Superb French food. Highly attentive and thoughtful staff. Had informed helpful suggestions for excellent lesser known local wines. Accommodated one diner with chef preparing off menu items at their suggestion cheerfully and without being asked. Food was great and the ambiance soothing and relaxed and lively at bar where many diners chose to have their meal even when it wasn’t crowded at tables. Right by the water. Nice place for dinner.

Everything was perfect at Angèle! Our server was Madeline. She was super helpful and knowledgeable and recommended a great bottle of wine and was also fun. The food was delicious. We got the yellowtail crudo and escargot to start- both delicious. Highly, highly recommend that escargot! Our meals were also great- I got the risotto and my boyfriend got the lamb. Both were perfectly done, and the lamb was unbelievably tender. We finished with the pavlova for dessert, and a couple of dessert co*cktails- easily the best espresso martini I’ve had! You have to come here if you’re in Napa.

My favorite French/California restaurant in Napa Downtown hands down. Delicious food, tasty drinks, Best location, great ambiance, top-notch service. We have been bringing business for several years and also have Dinned many times so as you can see I am overdue for this review.If you are visiting Napa Valley for wine tastings make sure to include it for lunch, if doing it for dinner I would recommend not combine with a day of wine tasting because you need to make a fun experience and dress up for it. It’s not super fancy but for sure I have celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here as well as Bussines meetings. You are just going to love it.

OH, ANGELEEEE, I love thee. I cannot recommend this place more. From its intimate dining atmosphere and delicious dishes to friendly and helpful wait staff, we had an incredible experience.We were late to the game in making a reservation ahead of time so we got bar seating, but it certainly didn’t take away from the dining experience. The co*cktails were excellent and our server was knowledgeable about the wines. I loved the crispy artichoke hearts and definitely recommend. The summer corn soup wasn’t my favorite but my partner loved it and said “it was the best thing he’s eaten in a long time.” The striped bass and the clams were very flavorful and I could have eaten it three times a day. First time here. The vibes were chill, relaxed, and mellow, and we had a great time here! Our table was next to the river and we enjoyed the views!Services were friendly. I had THE BEST truffle fries ever in my life because the truffle was so fresh, smelled excellent, and authentic!

Wonderful experience at this cute and pleasant restaurant in downtown Napa. Attentive and super efficient service, and they even offered to remix the drink when my wife didn’t enjoy the initial taste. Croque Monsieur was perfectly cooked, and all the other dishes were also tasty. Large free parking lot nearby.

After my birthday dinner was canceled without warning at Wilfried's Lounge, Angele were able to squeeze us in at the bar seating.The service was good, as were the co*cktails. Most of the food was also good, but the sweetbread bouchee (my dish) was a real miss. It tasted exactly like (and I mean, suspiciously identical to) the frozen chicken pot pies I would get from the grocery store... except with a $36 pricetag. (It wasn't really redeemed by the shaved truffles, which are the cheap Perigord ones and too mild to overcome the generic chicken pie flavor)...But the other dishes were good: steak and fries, and the bowl of Manila clams (meaty clams and a good portion)This would have been a 5 star review, if only my $36 dish didn't taste exactly like what I get for $2 at Safeway.

The cuisine at Angele is classic French bistro fare. We started with one of the best Old Fashions in years (once they got the order right) and their butter lettuce salad and fried artichoke hearts. Enjoyed the salad and the chokes were cooked perfectly and completely edible. Had the sweetbreads and some. The sweetbreads were the entire gland and the sauce and celery root and mushrooms were perfect. The sole was unfortunately overcooked and dry and was not finished. The survive was super rushed, noisy and we had to ask multiple times for the wine we ordered with the mains.

Fresh oysters, muscles with truffle fries and escargot were delicious.The dipping sauce for the ouster is lemony. The break on top of the escargot, is light and crispy (like a toasted croissant). They offer bread to start but you can dip it with the muscle sauce for extra flavour :) the chicken pot pie was flavourful and a good portion.

For a place on Napa downtown, this place is surprisingly good and should be rated higher.Good:- Service here is amazingly fast! So nice and makes it easy when you’re super hungry like us at 9:30 pm- Loved the appetizers, especially the corn soup (cold and sweet) and Burrata with the super tasty bread. The tartare was good too- The tagliatelle was so good and the way it merged cheesy and tangy flavor was amazing and portion sizes were good- Good free butter and breadBad:- Can be more on the expensive side- A bit dim inside but still a good ambiance for catch-upsOverall really pleased with our experience here after a day of drinking.

One of the best restaurants in Napa. French flare , love the outdoor seating and attention to detail. Love the new co*cktail and mocktail menu. Often do seasonal dishes. Amazing fries, fried artichokes, beef tartare. Great Nicoise salad.

Wonderful taste of fine dining by the Napa River. The fried artichokes were a great appetizer, very much enjoyed the fish. Very fresh ingredients, friendly staff. A great place for friends with a calming ambience.

What fabulous service and outstanding co*cktails and food. I am a bourbon gal usually and a classic Manhattan is my go-to, so I tried the Coffee and Cigarettes co*cktail - perfect! It was a bit chilly, but the outside patio was still plenty warm and a lovely place to sit!

The overall atmosphere and service were really good! Just a heads up, although we came on a Monday evening, you still need to call ahead to make reservations since it was fairly crowded. We had the French onion soup and fried artichoke hearts for starters, and they were AMAZING!!! Our dinner course included the Duck Confit and Porkchop, and we had some signature co*cktails... Although we didn't care for the coffee and cigar co*cktail, our waiter was able to substitute it for an old-fashioned instead. 👍🏾👍🏾 We were too full to have dessert, so we'll just have to come again to try it out! It was overall a very nice, romantic dining experience overlooking the Napa River.

Great location in the old Napa River riverfront. I love French cuisine so when I saw escargot and French onion soup on the menu, I had to try.Napa is wine country, but what paired best with our light dinner from Angele was a nice cold Kronenbourg lager! To be fair, we had lunch on the Napa Wine train and were still half full. Therefore, we mostly ordered from the starters menu. Most of the dishes were salty, especially the escargot (with pastry puffs) and the onion soup. The cold beer washed them down well. The pate board was more delicate and the salad was refreshing. The French bread was excellent. I wish we had more room to taste and try more entrées. Maybe next time.I loved the outdoor gazebo/patio, that had fly screens (full protection) on 3 of the 4 sides. It was a beautiful outdoor space. They allow dogs.The service was ok, but I wish the service team would come by more often and see that we had dishes and plates to clear from our table.Again, in fairness, i hope to come back and try the other dishes and entrées. With our limited appetite, there's nothing we would reorder again, but we'll be sure to bring our appetites next time.

We went on a weekday. There was plenty of parking, both by the market and across the street. They do share the lot with The Culinary Institute of America, so I would imagine that if there was an event it might fill up.Inside the market there are a couple dozen vendors/restaurants that share the space to sell their wares. It was like a mini farmer's market with fruits, veggies, cheeses, meats, spices, and small gifts. There was indoor and outdoor seating for the restaurants. Prices were on the higher side.Also, if you have small children, I would imagine that you would have to keep an eye on them because everything is displayed in a way that just makes you want to pick it up or at least touch it.Check their website for current offerings, specials, and events. There is also a path behind the market that you can walk along part of the Napa River.Also, like I mentioned, they are right across the parking lot from the CIA (Culinary Institute of America). If you have any foodies in your family, this is a really neat place to check out. They have a free culinary museum with all kinds of interesting kitchen gadgets.

This market has variety of places to try and eat different foods. I think that this place is overrated. Many of the options are expensive. There is many great restaurants and places to try in Napa and have good food. The only place which is I would recommend could be the French bakery in oxbow public market.

The Oxbow Public Market is a fun place to visit in Napa. No matter if you wanna get lunch, dinner, ice cream, shopping for souvenirs, seasoning, or groceries. You will find something you want to buy.Oxbow Public Market has had more and more dining options available in recent years. Some of them are very popular. It often has a long line or a long wait for a table. The market is super crowded on the weekends or holidays too!

What a great place diverse tenant mixture of local food vendors, artisan cafes and an organic produce outlet for local farms. Situated along the Napa river. Try “casa” for good Mexican food.

Lots of variety with many vendors selling food, crafts, wine, cupcakes, chocolate, fresh produce, and more. Great stop for breakfast or lunch or for souvenirs like local jams and honey. Next to Culinary Arts which is excellent stop too.

Small indoor market. Many different food options to choose from. It can get pretty crowded but you can still walk around and explore. The market is a bit overpriced but everything seems fresh.

Great market with variety of selections. Chocolate boutique, oven wood fire pizza, hog island, organic super market, tacos, fried chicken, home made ice cream. You name it, they have it here. I enjoy all the local food here/ great spot!

Visiting Napa in a weekend in search of great food, but without reservations anywhere, can be a tough situation.Fortunately there's Oxbow Market and the food stalls contained within. All sorts of choices such as sushi, BBQ, fresh oysters, tacos, deli sandwiches, great coffee, and more. There's a lot to like here.

This is really an essential stop in downtown Napa. It has a grocer, as well as many small shops that sell sea food, sushi, cheese, and olive oil. I would recommend anyone stopping in the downtown area to go to Oxbow

We had lots of fun at this market - it has nice shops, wine and food. All of them are great quality and you will find lots of local businesses to be introduced to and support.

Something for everyone here. Vendors line the aisles of this indoor market. A deli, wood fire pizza place, cupcakes, veggie market, fish/meat market, chocolates and much more. There is free parking on-site but it does get very busy. Definitely a unique experience that draws a large crowd.

Oxbow is a for sure highlight of my Napa trip! All the restaurants and grocery items are definitely picked by someone with great taste. Everything is presented in a beautiful way and all the disposable cups and utensils are compostable. The variety is excellent and has everything from poke to Jewish deli. Come early because parking can be challenging! Staff is friendly and the whole place is clean, I highly recommend.

Nice food hall with various food vendors ranging from pizza, seafood, cheese, sushi, Mexican, chocolate, cupcakes, empanadas, olive oil and alcohol to name a few. They also have a produce market and book store. There is seating both indoor and outdoors. Don’t forget to explore around Oxbow for Model bakery, Laperts ice cream and Gotts. Parking can be difficult during peak hours and during the weekend. Small restroom area for a large area.

Vibrant public market with some good places to eat inside. There is also a nice olive oil and spices shop with real good collection of things.Plenty of parking available next to the market

Nice marketplace that has a wide variety of restaurants, boutique souvenir shops, bakeries, and many other offerings. 5-minute walk from the Westin Verasa, and also a 5-minute walk across the bridge to the other side of Napa downtown.

Fun place to visit. Crowded and various food choice. But it is relatively small if you expecting something like Chelsea Market in NYC or Reddings market in Philly.

What a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy with friends. Great food and drinks. Many vendors that supply fresh ingredients for their dishes. Farm fresh groceries are also available. A must for locals and visitors. Can get pretty busy. Come early.

I was strolling through to visit some friends in Sacramento. Saw this on things to do and decided to come see what it was about. It is a cute little public market. However it is pretty tiny and pricey. I did buy a few things to gift to family and friends. However those three things in the picture cost almost $20. Max someone would spend here if they're not drinking or eating is probably 30 minutes.

Totally recommend, lots of food, affordable prices, love the pizzas, argentinian empanadas and chimichurri, lots of wine, cheese, chocolate, lots of fun!

It had a variety of stores most of which were selling food from ice cream, to Japanese food, booba tea and pizza. It's a very small place with a seating area.

Solid burger, my fault for keeping the tomatoes and lettuce as the burger was quite wet but I know some people like that. Burger had a great crispness on the outside.I was too full after the burger to fully enjoy my original fries but they were ok.Garlic fries were too much for me, I love garlic but it was overload even though I only tried one.Service was quick and smiley. We sat outside and enjoyed the lovely weather.

Listen, hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Cali burger…I usually get a lettuce wrap but this was my first time so had to go with the bun. Meat was seasoned toppings didn’t fall off, lettuce was crisp bun was warm and firm. Garlic fries were oily but still amazing.

Tasty hamburgers that lived up to the hype! We enjoyed the California Burger and the Wisconsin Burger, and we were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of other food items such as chicken schnitzel, soup, and salads. Nice outdoor dining area as well, but it does get crowded during peak dining hours.

We found this gem on our way to our hotel (after a 5 hr flight). It was located near the public market with a bunch of other stores nearby. The chicken parm sandwich was one of their specials for the day so I decided to order that for lunch, as well as the garlic fries. The sandwich was made to perfection and tasted absolutely amazing! Garlic fries were also nice and crispy, which paired well with the sir kensington’s ketchup :)Lastly, we ordered a couple bottles of Rosé, Bieler Père et Fils (Provence, France) and had a toast amongst the 6 of us.Overall, i highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick bite in Napa!

The soft shell crab sandwich wasfire 🔥 AF 🔥The burgers where really good! I’m so happy I got both!!! I do wish I got two crab sandwiches. This place was really clean, more expensive then your mom n pop burger joint. But worth the money. Can’t wait to go back, their team was awesome, super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place as one of your stops if ur visiting wine country.

Gott’s, I love you!!! Following a hilarious disaster of a hike at nearby Westwood Hills Park, sat down here for such a satisfying, reliable, juicy burger and refreshing lemonade. Everything you want in a burger. Would come here weekly if I lived nearby. Nothing like that visceral, charred burger taste. And their soft serve is incredible, too! Skip the overpriced Napa restaurants and come here. Can’t wait to come back to any of their locations.5 stars!!!

Great burger spot, we originally planned for walking around and wine tasting but went here instead. The burger was a tasty classic with good fries and a great chocolate PB shake. Sitting outside, you get to control the heater yourself which is a great touch.

The fried cauliflower is awesome! Perfectly battered and fried, don’t sleep on this tasty appetizer. Burgers are good, meat is naturally raised and you can taste the difference. Fish tacos are okay, good portion, just not too flavorful. Staff is friendly and the place is clean.

Doing an impromptu Napa tour with my cousin's wife, my cousin and my wife on memorial weekend... We started late so we got to Napa around 2:00. Decided to hit Gotts! I've never been here before, but I heard quite a bit about this place. The weather felt more like San Francisco than Napa Valley, but let's talk about the hamburgers!We ordered the avocado, the western blue cheese, and tuna tacos along with cheese, fries, garlic fries and sweet potato fries and obviously the street corn as well!My first bite was from the western blue cheese. Wow! Let me say it again, wow!! Complex flavors. Nice bite from the blue cheese. Excellent complementary flavors.You avocado burger was next. That was amazing with jalapeno peppers inside. Very refreshing, great blend of taste. Work really well with each other. Next, I attack those ahi tuna tacos. Tacos for extra crispy tuna was awesome. Everything worked really well.The street corner is something right home about was amazing. How much more to say about the fries? Cheese, fries or cheese fries? Garlic fries are obviously garlic fries and sweet potato fries or slightly overdone but amazing. Amazing hamburgers must have. Must stop here. Must get a bite!

Gott's has excellent burgers and sides. The food also comes out quick given how busy the place is. Would definitely go back here the next time I visit Napa.

Classic diner vibes with an elevated menu. It's counter service and they give you a buzzer. The food was excellent. I had the Texas Avocado Burger and it was cooked a perfect medium. The cheesy fries were so good. The cheese sauce is so flavorful. Of course we had wine!

This is a must stop any time you are in the area. The outside is dog friendly, which we appreciated as we were traveling with our dog. It also has heaters over several of the tables which was need on this fall night. It is a very upscale/modern diner. You walk in and order at the counter. We may have been a little overly aggressive in ordering a double cheeseburger each but we had never been and heard good things. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and my husband got a peanut butter shake. We were handed a little device to let us know when our order was ready. In the meantime, I stocked up on napkins, ketchup, mustard and mayo. I was thrilled that they have Sir Kensington ketchup it is my favorite and they don't make it to sell to the public anymore. The order came out quickly. The double cheeseburger was huge...and delicious! We enjoyed our crispy fries. Must husband loved his shake, and appreciate that it was made the old fashioned way with real ice cream and milk. I really appreciated the free refill on my drink. Overall, we will make sure to stop here every time we visit!

There's so many great choices for dining in in Napa that you can suffer analysis paralysis. Fortunately there's Gott's, which is an easy choice to make.I mean, where do I begin. Everything is great - the fries, the burgers, the shakes, the onion rings. You really can't make a bad choice here. In fact, we went here for lunch while trying to figure out where to go for dinner. So, if you too are not sure what to do, then go to Gott's.

We got the Texas Avocado Burger (hooray for perfectly ripe avocado!) and the Wisconsin Burger. Both were delicious. The garlic fries were not so much garlic as pesto, I had envisioned actual garlic on them and was disappointed by their appearance, but not taste. I mean hey, fresh hot french fries. The lemonade tasted like it was made from real lemons, making my arnold palmer crazy refreshing. Cute patio atmosphere.

We visited in mid December. Perfect weather for eating outside on the patio and watching the train. The ahi tacos, garlic fries, and Wisconsin burger were amazing. Plenty of parking. Good atmosphere.

A perfect spot for lunch between wineries! Burgers were great, fresh ingredients and filling! Get the brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries!! Also a milkshake! We ordered ahead since we were about 30 minutes away and definitely recommend. Food was ready as soon as we walked in which was great to avoid long lines.

I often enjoy a great burger and the sides at Gott’s. It’s a classic and delicious. The buns are always perfectly toasted and the crispy Brussel sprouts are my favorite. They handle my various food allergies extremely well.

California cuisine is what this place does. Simple fresh ingredients, a small menu of items done well. A good wine list and co*cktails to go with the meal.

We visit Napa regularly and this was one of our best dining experiences. The dining staff were extremely attentive and willing/able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. Usually a fine dining experience means no substitutions but at Torc it was the opposite. They were able to offer number gluten free/vegetarian options and took time to walk us through the menu.We ended up getting Pakora, soup, risotto and spiced pear sorbet. Each dish was beyond delicious!!The co*cktails were also great - plus they had a great wine menu (of course).

A fabulous dinner place! The food was exquisite and very rich in flavor. We had the squash blossoms, wild mushroom risotto with black truffles, the Maine scallops, and strawberry cream puff with pistachio ganache.The popcorn on the scallop dish felt out of place. Everything else was went well together. Highly recommend when in Napa!

Absolute excellence in cuisine. We had dinner for 4 and every dish brought a unique and delectable experience to our palettes. The deviled eggs, sweet potato dish, and eggplant flowers made incredible appetizers and we followed with the beef duo, scallops, and rigatoni with truffle. I did not choose to reduce the rating by a star, however, I do want to extend feedback regarding masks. We literally had to walk 5 feet to our table and a mask was mandated to do so...not the issue. We were charged 3.00 each for the privilege and unfortunately that set the tone initially at our table. It seemed petty as we're about to spend hundreds on our meal. We could have provided proof of vaccination for all 4 of us had we been asked. Suggest revisiting the policy and the overall experience impact.

Went upon a recommendation from a friend.We were promptly seated and provided water. Our server greeted us but spoke softly and seemed like always a step behind where we were in our meal and decision process.Their wine list has a unique section for some nicer wines by the glass that use the Coravin wine preservation system. So you can have it without buying the bottle.We had the bread appetizer. It was great with the whipped butter. (It’s actually listed as a side not an app)We ordered the filet and the ziti. The ziti is described as a smaller dish and it was (a nice size to not be over full after eating). It tasted good. Would likely order that if returning.The filet was served with a gravy that resembled pot roast gravy with some pot roast shreds under the steak. It tasted good however I feel it took away from the steak. The grits were good and even better with some of the gravy. Maybe it was more intended for that anyway?The steak was tender and good flavor (without the gravy). Ordered it medium and it was med rare. Not a big deal as I can do either just fine.The restaurant is in a neat old stone/brick building. There’s plenty of room so not overly crowded at your table.The assistants for the server were probably more attentive than our server- always keeping our waters full.All in all for the price, it seemed a little overpriced for the quality received. Maybe that’s par for the course for Napa.

Relaxed , cool atmosphere with exceptional food. Our server Lisa was knowledgeable, and staff is friendly. Deviled eggs, buckwheat pasta, and almonds were my favorites. I highly recommend

Had a wonderful experience at Torc tonight. David was our server and did an outstanding job. Every single member of the staff was very friendly and attentive. What a memorable experience, and we will be back for many years to come!!

Two of the three dinners (scallops) were excellent. The pasta with chicken was OK, but clearly not in the same league as the scallops. Restaurant was lightly attended (it was Tuesday night), and service was good. Overall I would give it a B.

The most amazing experience I've ever had. Just go. Amazing everything. Chilled Pea Soup & pistachio/ strawberry tiramisu were to die for. I loved the tempura asparagus the sauce was addicting and I loved how they sliced the asparagus before it was fried. I liked the pakora but would get 3 each of the above before I'd reorder it.The service was perfect. The music was right up my alley.... Played classic R & B, hip hop. I loved eating my meal listening to Wutang & The Fugees.We sat outside it was beautiful. This was my first time here And I know I'll come back every single time I visit. Can't wait!

A highlight of the Napa restaurant scene, Torc brings some eye watering specials to the table with enormous steaks and a wild lobster feast that will explode any unwitting wallet, but the main menu is full of inspired favorites that don’t necessarily have to break the bank.Every item is high quality and sustainable, local where possible. From the pakora to the perfectly seasoned fries and pastas- they’re nailing flavor and texture across the board. Service could have been more unique or attentive, but it wasn’t poor. Everything happened with good cadence and control, but I can see what other diners say when they expect perfection for the prices being paid.Try the bread. Try the pastas. The steaks may not live up to the hype or price tags. Pea soup was lovely. Ditto the salad. They’ve got a vegetable team working just as hard as the meat team which you love to see.

Went at 4pm on a weekend. The bar is open seating so no reservation needed. Staff was friendly. They have happy hour deals which was great. The sweet potato pakora was amazing.I would return here

The Compline makes the best burger I’ve ever had, and their duck fat fries are divine. Truly, an exceptional dining experience. We split the burger and the spaghetti carbonara and a few glasses of wine and they were all excellent, as was our waiter Ivan, who was professional, knowledgeable and gracious. We even bought some beautiful bottles of wine (wine we had enjoyed so much with our meal), and they offered them at 50% discount! I really can’t recommend Compline enough, it knocked our socks off.P.S. We also ordered the Escarole salad with celery seed dressing and for me it was possibly the tastiest salad of all time. Highly recommend!!

I stopped by during a business trip to enjoy a Napa Valley experience. I tried making reservations online while waiting for the place to open for lunch but it did not allow me for lunch. They let me sit at the bar since I was traveling alone and didn't mine. I was a good adult escape from the over crowd resturants in the area. The lunch menu is very limited but dinner menu looked interesting. I was more interested in real food like a small steak instead of burger and fries. I ended up ordering a winter salad with a burger but the burger was more like eating a steak with a homemade roll. It made up the difference. So my bill for a salad, hamburger, glass of wine, 15% charge for covid or server I guess plus tip ended up being about $74 so don't go in if your on a budget. It was a business paid lunch for me. One of the female waitress I thought was not a very good server but the guys at the bar were pretty good.

We had a sizable birthday party celebration at Compline. Food was pretty good, and a nice wine selection to go along with the dishes. The duck fat fries were very addictive!

Loved the staff and the wine options. Staff were super knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings which was helpful. There were some interesting flavors in the food. I tried the duck which I had heard so much about but for me the flavor combinations did not go. Others however loved them ! Definitely reserve in advance and try as much as you can on the menu .

I would give one Stat, but the server did a good job. The food is overpriced mediocre quality fare. The $40 steak was full of grissel super chewy. Food came out warm not hot. Restaurant was operating at maybe 40% capacity, yet they couldn't get then food out? The appetizers were about as good as frozen microwave treats.The temperature in the restaurant is sweltering. Apparently air conditioning at this establishment is kept off in exchange for open windows. Prepare to sweat while spending over $100 per person.FYI- they force tip to pay a "liveable wage". I was not upset because our server was good, buy maybe make it clear front and center that we will be mediocre yet charge you top dollar. We want to spout social justice about livable wages on your dime not theirs. They claim to provide health insurance to the staf with your tips.... if that is their operating procedure, let people know clearly, before they have committed cash for a reservation that is nonrefundable.We arrived, a party of 9. Open table charged me $225.00 to make the reservation. The hostess advises that they have no child seats at the door. She asked us to point out the birthday person, and says they will do something special. We get the food, eat, order bottles of wine, drink, get the check - almost $700 - and pay. Nothing for the birthday. Hostess had to be reminded.Experience was not good. Food was not good. If I want chewy steak with cold potatoes, I can go to a big chain restaurant and pay less. Stay away from this place. I gladly pay for good food, this place was lacking. If you operate a restaurant that does not accommodate kids - make it clear before people pay for a reservation. This place is the pits. Take your hard earned money elsewhere.

This review is for the Compline Wine Shop, not the restaurant.Compline Wine Shop was the perfect place to start our Napa trip. Our tasting experience introduced us to all types of wines - local and around the world. The energy was laid back and the map on the wall helped orient us as to where the wines came from. Their in-house sparkling water matched the impeccability of their wine. Highly recommend this tasting room for anyone in Napa - visitors or locals alike. Definitely a 5⭐️ experience.

DELICIOUS! Go try this place right away! The food is excellent, the service is good and the atmosphere is laid back California and fun. Don’t miss the off-the-menu burger or the the duck fat fries. The cheese board was excellent as well, as was the pork. And their wine offerings are wonderful as well and our waiter had excellent wine pairing recommendations for us. The chef came out to say hi and thank us and was super kind. All in all, a delightful experience. Highly recommend!

Do yourself a favor and head over to this restaurant and wine bar. On Sundays there are blind wine tastings which is really fun and helps to build your understanding of your personal tastes of wine. The bar tender was very friendly and helpful the whole night. For food, order the duck fries! Maybe even two orders. Everything we had was wonderful!

One of my favorite restaurants in Napa! Service & atmosphere on point every time, and the quality of the food is at a premium - sourcing from local purveyors (highest quality meat) vegetarian options available too.

We had the best dinner here! The host, bartender, and our server, John, were so kind and attentive. They gave us thoughtful wine recommendations and the food was delicious! Can't wait to come back.

Great service, AMAZING FOOD, great location. The restaurant looks super well put together, great decor and ambiance. Service was spotless. Food was absolutely great, we got the hamburger, the coconut and tofu soup, and the carbonara finishing off with the brown sugar cheesecake. Amazing.

A truly excellent meal on our first night in Napa County. VERY modern and well equipped restaurant with a full bar and friendly staff. We were the first diners to arrive on the evening of our reservation that was booked WELL in advance. The meal was indeed marvelous, and foreshadowed what other delights the Napa area held in store for us over the next 5 days we spent there. We had the most wonderful dinner experience at La Toque. The food was exquisite - every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. But it was the service that really made our meal outstanding.Our servers Maria and Samantha were so attentive and knowledgeable. They could clearly tell we were celebrating something special and really went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. Maria knew all the details about each dish and recommended perfect wine. They also had great suggestions based on our tastes.It was clear Maria and Samantha truly cared about giving us the best possible experience. They paid close attention to every detail, from refilling waters to clearing empty plates promptly. We felt like we were the only table in the whole restaurant! La Toque is clearly doing something right to have such engaged, passionate servers on their team.

Brian is pretty much my hero! He helped me move my reservation more than a couple of times, and accommodate a table of 7ppl on a Saturday at 7:30 now I suppose don't expect him to do this all the time but the 5 stars are for his attitude, kindness, professionalism, and willing to look into it, for the excellence of our server and for that truffle sandwiches omg! The food is so freaking delicious, thank you chef Ken! You are missing out if you are visiting Napa Valley celebrating a special occasion and you don't have LaToque in your itinerary,

The whole Ambiance is absolutely stunning and gives you that luxurious feeling. The flower vases and the overall seating is very impressive.The service is over the top and the style of serving is also very unique.The food is good too. Overall great experience.

Tonight’s dinner at La Toque can only be described as unbelievably exquisite. Every single dish was delightful.The white asparagus was perfectly paired with a bacon shallot jam which was an incredible flavor, and one which I would love to learn how to recreate.The A4 wagyu beef from Kagoshima Prefecture was an explosion of flavor and simply out of this world. It had us going “mmm” with every bite. It was truly worth every dollar. Seriously!Very often, duck has a strong gamey taste, but their duck breast was a surprising delight with its flavor and firm yet moist meat and lightly crispy skin. The duck jus that came with the dish just enhanced the taste perfectly.Their poached Alaskan halibut was cooked so well that we could truly appreciate its delicate taste and texture.Lastly, but certainly not the least, was our dessert. We had the Chocolate Hazelnut Dacquoise with Chocolate Amaretto Ice Cream. Oh.My.Word! I don’t remember the last time we ever had such a perfect dessert. And one that we do wish came in a larger portion.And the service. From the time I received a call to confirm my reservation and check for allergies, till the time we left, service was nothing short of wonderful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our wait staff were extremely helpful, attentive and warm.I was worried when I read the bad reviews on Google, and I don’t understand the negative comments. The quality of the food was exceptional. The chef certainly knows what he’s doing, and the staff definitely know how to provide great service. The only complain I do have is about the cushions on the patio chairs. They are too thin. I would have expected a restaurant like this to be meticulous about every detail in the restaurant. You’re not having a quick bite here, and you want to be seated comfortably for a couple of hours.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday there this past weekend. It was fantastic. This is one of the rare restaurants that already had a vegetarian tasting menu in place. Normally I have to call the restaurant and they have to accommodate and most importantly they aren’t able to share what dishes you’d get. The service was amazing and food was stellar too. Definitely on the expensive side, but if you are celebrating something special, id highly recommend this place. We also tried the truffle sandwich (wasn’t part of the regular tasting menu) it was amazing!!

The food and service were excellent. I dined with dietary restrictions, which were accommodated beautifully. My only (minor) criticism is that the pours on the wine pairing were light, and while I wasn't denied more when I asked, I also wasn't offered extra. At other Michelin establishments, I have found the wine pairings to be more generous.

Did the wine come first or the dishes in the tasting menu? A question that kept popping up in our minds while going through the courses. The chef seems to also care about the texture of the dishes as we noticed that the mouth feel is different and added a dimension to the courses. Back to the wine pairing. The individual course is handicapped without the wine. We didn't want the wine pairing but was fortunate to decide otherwise, so we shared one pairing between the two of us out of curiosity. Wow! The wines added two stars to the dishes. The chive butter sole added depth to the Chablis. The brillat Savarin brought out the different flowers in the chasselas. The tokaji extended the finish of the almonds and the lemon meringue. I don't know the answer to my question. All I know is the tasting menu needs the wine pairing to be enjoyed properly.

Had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings. Added a co*cktail and coffee. The food and wine pairings were impeccable. The upgrade to wagyu for the main course was unnecessary. Half of us upgraded and we all loved the original entree. The service was the best we experienced all week in the napa valley. The atmosphere was also bar none. This is a must visit.

Everything about this restaurant is 5 stars. The food, service, decor are all superb. Reservations are definitely recommended and they are not only mindful of dietary restrictions, but also other dietary preferences, like not wanting a certain ingredient, which makes the experience that much better.The vegetarian treating menu is amazing and all the dishes in it taste great. Special mention for the Winter Vegetable "Cassoulet" which is the best dish on the menu. Overall, this is a Michelin Star restaurant that you should not miss when in Napa.

We went for their annual truffle dinner - I know (black) truffles are a delicate / subtle flavor..... But every dish was essentially bland or very boring. The steak was also dry. For $647 for two people (without drinks!), I expected a lot more. If the bill was only a quarter as expensive, I still wouldn't increase my rating to 3 stars. Sorry. Staff were nice and friendly, but that only takes a restaurant so far. I can't believe they have a Michelin star to be honest.

Sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon. Great selections of fresh oysters shucking in front of us. We ordered a mix plate of oysters and some smaller ones were my favorite, slightly sweet and not much aftertaste. Relatively fast service. Fried oysters were quite a good snack as well. Clam chowder was creamy and had ample amount of clams with shell attached. Great spot for a quick eat if visiting the oxbow market area.

I love this spot!! Nice cozy bar with a lovely server who was attentive to our needs. The oysters were extremely fresh and shucked properly. The Manhattan chowder was made a la minuit and brothy light. Grilled oysters were perfectly cooked but lacked the "flavor bomb" affect the grilled oysters had at the SF location I've dined. Overall great experience and closer to home so it is a win!!

Everything we had, Manhattan chowder, fried oysters and raw oysters were delicious. The service was also great! We will be coming back soon to try the Seafood stew and other dishes.

We stopped here for a quick bite before our late dinner reservation. We ordered the trio of grilled oysters and the beer, battered oysters. The service was nothing special. They were friendly, but not chatty at all. We sat at the oyster bar, which was a fun experience. There was some shell in the oysters that we had to spit out but the flavors were good. We had a nice time sitting, but we felt a little bit rushed at the end to make a note this place was not busy when we were there. I probably wouldn’t wait around for this restaurant but if they had seating open, I think it’s a fun stop.

Located in the Oxbow market, this branch of High Island is always bustling and has the same great seafood you find in the San Francisco location. Great outdoor seating as well as inside around the bar. The clam chowder had a ridiculous amount of fresh clams and the mussels had a light Thai flavor with lemongrass and greens that was delicate and delicious. Plan to pay for the quality, but it's absolutely worth it.

Hog Island never disappoints. Not only are the oysters fresh and delicious, all the kitchen items are a hit as well. You can't go wrong.

When choosing this restaurant we read reviews praising the dishes. I respectfully disagree with the reviewers. In particular, the sample plate of grilled oysters was almost inedible. The most tasty dish we had was the garlic fries. I'm happy we at least had one good dish, but who goes to an "oyster co" for the fries? The service was okay. The server was pleasant but never checked to see is we were happy with the dishes. He took our order and the next time we saw him he was delivering the check. All around disappointment and cannot recommend.

We've eaten here a few times. Service has always been good but the atmosphere is just average. We had the Classic Clam Chowder and the Manhattan Clam Chowder this time. Both were good but not worth it if your having to wait in line for an hour to be seated. We did enjoy walking around the market.

After many trips to public market, this was my first time eating at Hog Island Oyster Co.I ordered the raw Oyster Bar Mix, the Grilled Bar Mix and was given a complimentary dish of Gooey Duck Carpaccio with fresh grapefruits. The meal was absolutely superb and I will be coming back.

If you're here for oysters you won't be disappointed: Plenty to choose from and very fresh. Plus other bigger dishes to help fill you up - the Shrimp & Grits were hearty, rich, and tasty. Service was fast and friendly. The place was bustling and located inside a food market, so it's great for catching up with friends but not so much for a quiet romantic dinner.

Stone Soup, Anyone? I came to this place on a New Year Eve's trip as it was highly recommended by friends. The service was a bit cold and cursory, which we overlooked because the place was packed and very busy. Then came our appetizer of mixed grilled oysters--several of which were very gritty and we spit more time picking shell out of our mouths instead of enjoying the flavors. And then my Manhattan chowder came which was very tasty until...I found a ROCK in it. Luckily I didn't chip my tooth on it (or choke ) but along with the gritty oysters it just proved that either a: the kitchen staff was moving too fast or b: the kitchen staff doesn't care. But worse than the dirty food itself was the manager's reaction to it when I pointed it out to her. Rather than apologize, she defensively explained that they do a "thorough" job of washing and sorting but sometimes rocks get through because "as you can see" it looks just like a clam. Full stop. Manager: Would you like another bowl? Me: Um, no. And then she said she would take my uneaten (dangerous) chowder off the bill--which of COURSE she should have done--and acted like she was doing me a huge favor. No profuse apologies, no shock about the egregious error, no concern about my well being or not having an entree. The manager's response was the equivalent of a verbal shrug. So, unless you like eating Stone Soup (just like the fairy tale!) and gritty oysters, steer clear.

Oysters are amazing. I ordered 6 piece oysters with my son but I should order a dozen of it because of the oysters were so delicious. I will order a dozen of more oysters when I go there next time.

This was my first time dinning at Hog Island Oyster Bar. What a wonderful experience. We had the Clam chowder, Halibut poke and the Hog Island Sweetwater Oysters. The place was not crowded, and we did not have to wait to be seated. It had a nice atmosphere located in the Oxbow Public Market with a lot of little shops and bars surrounding it. The staff was attentive and quick to take our order. I will be going to this place again.

While I've previously dined at Hog Island Oyster Co in Marshall and the restaurant inside the Ferry Building, this review pertains explicitly to the smaller location inside Oxbow. During my visit to Napa, I had been eager to stop by for lunch. Arriving around 11 AM, a half-hour before its 11:30 AM opening on Friday, I stood in line waiting for it to open. Once opened, I requested a bar sitting, where a friendly server promptly greeted me. I opted for their mixed plate of grilled oysters, which were genuinely excellent, featuring a delightful variety of seasonings.Given my fondness for clams, I ordered the steamed clams with pasta for an additional two dollars. Regrettably, the clam dish with pasta was disappointingly bland, lacking the desired depth of flavor and requiring some added salt. It came across as watery both in taste and appearance. Having previously enjoyed their clam chowder, this experience was somewhat lacking.I took most of the steamed clam dish home to improve its flavor as leftovers. Despite having visited their other locations more than two dozen times and typically leaving impressed, this was the first instance where I didn't leave thoroughly content. The English muffins are worth the hype! There will be a line but, it moves fast. There lattes are also, delicious.

The line is worth it! This place did not disappoint. We got the white mochas and tried the original breakfast sandwich, the chocolate crossiant, the blueberry muffin, and the raspberry croissant. Cool place to grab breakfast. Wraps and sandwiches were delicious. Cinnamon roll had raisins and nuts in it, no warning on label, not too good. OJ is the freshest ever and coffee is good.

Model bakery is a must see and do in Napa. The food is beyond belief delicious. They are famous for their English muffins because Oprah included them in her favorite things one year. They are worth the long lines to get. At least go once to say you did. You might not want an English muffin from anywhere else again.

English Muffins are excellent. Lighter than the traditional. More of a cross between an English Muffins and brioche. Plenty of cookies, muffins, and pastries to choose from. The only thing that kept me from buying more was their credit systems were down and could only accept cash the morning I visited. Alas, I only had $20 in my pocket. Highly recommend.

Okay, this is another MUST visit while in the valley. We stopped here as we arrived and picked up a baguette for the evening. We had a very late lunch so the evening would be charcuterie style. Model Bakery has been around forever. The next morning we scurried back to pick up pastries before they were all gone. Two visits in 2 days and we’ll be back for more.

The English muffin lives up to the hype! It’s almost sweet and absolutely delicious! The man who helped us was super friendly too. To avoid long lines come in the afternoon. After a poor experience at Mini Model in Yountville, this is a great comeback.

Recommended by a friend and I am happy he did. Got here around 7.30 in the morning and the place was buzzing. It had a super fresh and wonderful aroma that was super inviting and intriguing.Tried the avocado toast in the sourdough bread, chocolate croissant and blueberry scone. The family enjoyed all the options and the blueberry scone was the pick of the choice.

We love the fresh breads at Model Bakery. The sourdough loaf makes delicious everything! Take a fresh baguette to your wine tasting. Their breakfast sandwiches are pretty amazing, too. Definitely worth a stop any time we're nearby.

Very good quality and fresh bread. I tried baguette, croissant and scones. I wish I could try their famous Oprah’s English muffins. It was sold out when I checked the day before from online order. Anyway, their baguette was the best baguette in my life. Outside is crispy of course but inside is chewy and moist. Definitely I can tell it’s fresh flour. For the croissant the texture of the bread is alive in croissants. Oh I also tried all of their cookies. Chocolate chip cookies are soft than white macadamia one. Both are good quality. Sales person was very nice and attentive too.

Oprah says this is her favorite so we had to try! And the English muffin is a game changer… light, airy and crispy. So good with butter. Sorry Thomas haha

I live in Napa on weekends and heard lots of liberal hype about this place. Something about oprah raving about it or something like that. I decided to come during the rain because google said it was less crowded. So I ordered grilled cheese and a soup. The freshness of the food was great! The tomato soup was fresh hot, and the grill cheese bread was fresh. Three negatives about this place, although one I did not experience. First, the food was very bland. Both the soup and the grill cheese had very minimal or no salt. Second, the restaurant was full of flies inside and out, which was a deal breaker for me. I did not experience the long wait time as it was a rainy day. The bottom line is that I would not wait in any line to come back and order food. You're better off going to other Oxbow restaurant offerings.

Hands down the best English muffins I’ve had. The bread is quite fluffy and overall delicious. I liked that they were still warm when we picked up our order after 24 min. I highly recommend to try out this place!

This was a recommendation from an old school mate. She said, “you have to try their English muffins”. First day I was there I tried their English muffin toasted with butter and jam. Absolutely blown away with how good this was. I think they put crack cocaine in it. Also had their ham, egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin, it was OK. I think the toasted is the way to go. Lastly, we tried the avocado toast with an egg. Wow! It was really good too with a slice of fresh tomato. We went back there 3 times to eat the toasted English muffins. We were going to buy a dozen and bring them back to NJ with us but we were in too much of a rush and forgot. Highly recommend giving these a try and buying some to go.

Nice local bakery in downtown Napa. Lots of baked goods to choose from, despite its relatively small store front. The breakfast sandwich is definitely worth the long wait in line, as well as the English muffin.

Remove the soup from the menu and get a proper Expo person. I try to avoid these tourist places, but my mom was visiting, so I took her here. She ordered a bunch of goodies to take home. I got a coffee and soup.I waited 20 minutes for someone to tell me they were out of potato soup. No one else was walking out with soup. I didn’t see to go orders piling up. It took them 20 minutes to realize they only had tomato soup. Service person came out to tell me I could have a $6 refund or a tomato soup in 15 minutes… Um, how about the 20 minutes of my life back? Finally after checking with a manager she was somehow able to promise soup in 5 minutes. Another person came out and apologized at how busy they were. It was 11:05am, it was raining, no line outside, and they were sold out of almost everything. It wasn’t busy. I’ve seen that place packed in the summer. I wish they would have just admitted to screwing up, refunding me, and giving me some soup anyway.I hope they just remove it from the menu because they clearly can’t handle it. I hope they also learn to smile and value customers a little more. Many locals would come in more often, if you treated them with respect like they do next door at the Fatted Calf. Those people know what they’re doing.

Fluffy,delicious english muffin—definitely their star product.Also if you come around noon,you can try their pizza of the day. The pastries are just OK.

Ended up going here two different days for breakfast. Got some sweet treats as well. Everything was delicious. You can’t go wrong with whatever breakfast sandwich you choose. On a weekend morning I did a mobile order for pick up which I highly recommend because it was so busy. On a Monday morning I was able to walk right up and order.

We loved this place. Great view of park/water. Pig ears are amazing. We also enjoyed the savory burnt basque cheesecake. Great service, So many options!!

We didn't end up dining here but I wanted to leave a five star because the server gentleman recommended the place next door because we were looking for co*cktails and tapas. So we didn't end up dining here but the recommendation was solid (same owner).

The restaurant was pretty busy. They don’t take reservations, so keep that in mind. Outdoor seating is limited. We had our pup with us and stood at the outside counter. Not being able to sit wasn’t a problem for us though. The service was fast and friendly. The food was really tasty. We had some ceviche and empanadas and a few other things that were all very good. Overall a very nice experience. Will definitely dine here again.

This is a great spot for date night or to just have a nice small plate and glass of wine by the river. Their co*cktails are also excellent. My absolute favorite is the Sandeman port with the chocolate and peanut butter dessert, and we also always order the lamb tartare and crispy pig ears. We’ve never gone wrong with anything we’ve ordered here. And the wait staff is very nice.The reason I say this is a great date night place is that all of the wine and co*cktails are delicious, and the plates are rich and allow you to share. While the atmosphere just lends to a nice intimate but not too fussy experience. So it’s very relaxing and disarming for that 90 minutes or so when you can just enjoy some really tasty food and take in Napa.

A very interesting range of drinks including craft beer and cider on tap. An extensive selection of sherry including many types from the famous Lustau Bodega in Jerez. Try one of the flights of sherry's.

La Taberna is one of my favorite spots in Napa! The menu is great and fairly priced - there's lots to try, but you have to get the pig ears, pork belly, and idiazbal flan at the very least. You can't go wrong.

This is a hidden gem in downtown Napa! The food is phenomenal, and the prices are very reasonable for a tapas restaurant. My husband and I ordered so many delicious plates, but our favorites were the pig ears, the empanadas, and the lamb tartare. We will definitely be back next time we are in Napa!

With a little bit of attention, you can make any meat dish great. But making even bread and potatoes (Patatas braves) heavenly? That requires true talent! Couple that with incredible wine and service, Look no further, you have arrived!
