Rules of chic according to me, my patio inspo, cool sunglasses alert, and maybe something fun is coming ??? (2024)

  1. Stop and think before trend chasing. Do I actually like this or am I being manipulated by the internet? Both can be true but at least ~evaluate~.

  2. Question the logo. I truly hate logo mania I find it to instantly make most things look cheap. Remember that a giant logo doesn’t mean you have taste so make sure you actually believe in the piece without that damn logo before buying!

  3. Less is more when it comes to most things but especially jewelry ( don’t come for me it’s just my opinion!). I’m seeing an influx of jewelry on jewelry and an intense amount of layering and it’s just not my vibe it starts to feel a little sorority esque lol. Choose one or two pieces and when hesitating google CBK (Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy) because she hardly wore any!

  4. Ditch the raw hem denim. Pleaseeeeeeee.

  5. Timeless over trends. As I get older I’m more aware of the things I want to invest in vs. the things I know I’ll just wear for the season and then be over it. The Row jelly flats are a good example of this. For me I know I won’t want to wear them past this summer so I’m skipping it for that price tag.

  6. Tailoring. Tailor literally everything unless you’re one of those freaks that clothes fit perfectly. I promise it will make every outfit 10x better. Before you go buy brand new trousers tailor the ones you never wear because they don’t fit right.

  7. When in doubt, wear black. That’s all.

  8. Steer clear of anything overly platform in a sneaker or loafer. There are exceptions to the rule. This was my exception this year!

  9. Try to balance your proportions unless you’re like an Olsen twin or something then its fine

  10. Keep something a little undone. For me it’s usually my hair. As long as something looks a little off you’ll always appear effortless.

  11. Invest in the details. I promise they are more important than the clothing. I could be wearing jeans and a t-shirt but if I have a really chic shoe, belt, bag, sunglasses, or jewelry it’s a completely different look. The details can elevate almost anything.

  12. Refresh your basics every season because you deserve it. T’shirts, tanks, bras, underwear, etc…. I just did my yearly Cuup sale haul. Best undies and best bras. And replenished my t-shirts and tanks. Great t-shirt I just found and bought in a few colors. And this tank is as good as I thought it would be. I bought it in grey!

  13. For my minimalists: Don’t let your pieces overly compete with each other. I like to pick 1 or 2 points of interest and let the rest of my look stay pretty simple. Maximalists: please ignore and live your best life!

surely this will be an ongoing list but moving on!

Outdoor space updates

I am fully exhausted by the lack of options in outdoor furniture. Everything is absolutely hideous yet wildly expensive. Here’s what I’m trying to achieve so I’ll be over here staining vintage patio furniture and having cushions reupholstered because sometimes you have to make things happen for yourself!!!! lol. My outdoor space is small so I’m trying to maximize the space but want it to feel cozy.

As you can see I am clearly obsessed with stripes, daybeds, bolster pillows, and vintage partitions. Really channeling Nickey Kehoe meets vintage LA meets I wish I was in Greece on eternal vacation. We shall see where it ends up I’m trying not to rush the process since home things always end up better when you take your time and wait for the right pieces. I already purchase a collection of plants and am already in panic mode on whether I’m responsible enough to be their mom. I’m not an indoor plant person but I do love an outdoor plant so wish me luck.

If you follow me on IG you probably know I put a lot of energy into interiors. Aside from the obvious creative outlet I think I love interior projects because I’m such a homebody. People often ask why I would put my time and money into a rental. If you don’t care about your living space I understand but for someone who spends a lot of time at home it feels completely worth it to have a cozy space that reflects my taste and ultimately it feels so satisfying to look around at something that was thoughtfully pieced together. I found my place a few years ago post covid and unless there’s some specific circ*mstances I have no plans to leave anytime soon. It’s been exactly what I needed for LA to feel like home.

Latest sunglasses brand obsession

I’ll keep this short and sweet but my goodness these are cool. Port Tanger -all made in Japan as the best sunnies usually are. These are my favorite. Followed by the Suma. They remind me of JMM’s with a slightly less jarring price tag. I’m on a sunglasses fast because I hit my sunglasses spending limit already this year with these and I have zero regrets but please someone grab a pair of the PT’s and send me a fully detailed review.

Little announcement

I’m one of those people who has a hard time choosing just one career path because I have several creative endeavors I enjoy. I have mostly come to peace with the fact that I will almost always have more than one job and honestly prefer it that way. I’ve been styling professionally since 2016. The bulk of my experience is mostly in the celebrity world but I also style for brands which I really love doing. When I’m not styling I’m strategizing content for clients and brands. I have one client I travel with and shoot content for at Paris/Milan fashion week. I love photography and creative direction so this a fulfilling intersection of passions for me.

Something I’ve been doing low-key for the last few years is styling for private clients in NY/LA. It’s something I didn’t really imagine myself doing but fell into my lap. I get the most joy out of “life” type of looks or the things you would want to wear on a normal day. I oddly find it to be more exciting than any sort of red carpet or runway styling so it’s been something I creatively really enjoy. And so I’ve been brainstorming a way to do a bit more of it. So with that, I’m going to be offering virtual styling sessions. I want there to be an extension of what you’re getting from me here but in a one-on-one, tailored to you type of way. So my plan is to open up a handful of time slots every month for you to book a private styling session. I’m still working out the details but it feels like an obvious next step to take something I’ve already been doing and open it up to the people following me online. So if you like my work and my taste and this is something that interests you, stay tuned! More to come.

xx
