Fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Ideas Dude! (2024)

What’s the Project? If you’re looking for fun Ninja Turtle party ideas for a birthday or for fun, you’ve got to check these out, dude! Easy games, invitations, food, favors and more.

When I was growing up, I watched more “boy shows” than “girl shows.” I had four younger brothers and with no sisters to watch things like My Little Pony or Rainbow Brite with, I was often left to watch things like Thundercats, Heman and of course, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my brothers.

Don’t get me wrong, I coerced them into my fair share of Carebears and such, but I learned to love their shows too.

So it’s fun for me that the Ninja Turtles are back and it’s fun for my boys to love them too! Plus, as a mom, I think those green faces are awfully cute in cookie form or as a piñata, so it’s fun to use them for a party! If you need Ninja Turtle party ideas for a birthday or other celebration, this is the place!

TheseNinja Turtle birthday party ideas are super simple to pull off so that you can enjoy the party too!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Ideas:

Here are all the details you need to create this party and make it a success! I’m giving you lots of pieces, use whatever works for your party!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Invitations:

I made some quick and simple Ninja Turtle party invitations and I kind of love how cute they are! Because you know, every little boy wants a cute birthday party invitation right? They are so simple to make.

Supplies Needed:

  • Green Cardstock and the color for the mask
  • 1-inch hole punch
  • Glue Stick
  • Black marker

To make these Ninja Turtle invitations, cut the green cardstock about 5 inches wide by 8 inches long. Fold it in half horizontally.

Cut the colored eye mask strips about 1 1/2 inches wide by 5 inches long. Glue them in place.

Cut out the white eyes with your 1-inch hole punch. (If you don’t have a 1-inch hole punch, just cut out some circles about that size.) Glue those in place and then add black dots to complete the eyeballs.

Inside I simply pasted in the information from a printable template I created. You can use it too:

So easy to put together, right?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Decorations:

Get ready for a ton of Ninja Turtle party ideas for the actual day of the party!

Part of the party process is making it look great for the kiddos and getting them excited right? I’ll admit that I got pretty excited when I put this all together.

To decorate, I pulled all of the various Ninja Turtle party aspects together-from favors to the food and drinks andpiñata and put them all on display. I’ll be breaking each of those throughout this post.

Then I added in some supplies from Amazon for the finishing touches!

When it all came together it looked fantastic!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Food Ideas:

If it’s a Ninja Turtles party there is only one thing you can eat…pizza! The turtles’ famous love for pizza fits perfectly with this party theme.

I bought pizza this time, but another fun idea would be to make mini pizzas and let the kids top their own.

For the drinks I found green Gatorade and then added these labels to make them look like the Ninja Turtles:

The kids loved these! Want to print your own? I’ve created a template for you with each of their masks:

And then…for my favorite part of the party, we had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cookies! (You could also make these as cupcakes.)

These Ninja Turtle cookies for this party are so simple! You can either make them ahead of time or let the kids decorate their own. I did both. I made a few and then had the kids each decorate one. They loved that and got very creative with what they did.

Supplies Needed:

  • Sugar cookies-make your own or buy them
  • Green frosting (I found this pre-colored and ready to go at Target which made this SO easy!)
  • Airheads
  • Edible eyes (in the baking section at Target or the craft store)

Frost your cookies.

Cut the airhead to fit (I cut off the end a little and then made them a little bit narrower. I used a pizza cutter to do this.)

Place the airhead on your cookie.

Use a tiny bit of frosting to stick the eyes to the airheads.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party Game Ideas:

Hot Potato Presents:

We played a couple of simple Ninja Turtle games for the party. The first was a musical chairs and hot potato hybrid game with fun prizes!

I bought some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed prizes:

and then wrapped them up (with fun Ninja Turtles Wrapping Paper).

The kids sat in a circle and passed the present around while music played.

When the music stopped, the person holding the present got to open it and keep the prize!

The grand prize box was last and had a Ninja Turtles action figure in it: (big hit!)

Ninja Masters:

For a very simple activity, I also had the kids play with these Ninja Turtles Disc Shooters that I found on Amazon with the other Ninja Turtle party supplies.

First we made our own Ninja Masks by cutting strips of fleece about 3-4 inches wide and cutting eye holes in them.

Then I just let them run around and fling these at each other or wherever they wanted. They loved the action and I loved that it was safe and simple.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Piñata:

Every kid loves a good piñata! This Ninja Turtle piñata that I made turned out so cute that my boys didn’t want to hit it and destroy it! (Believe me though-once they got started they had a good time!)

Make this yourself! It’s really not hard!

Supplies Needed:

  • Balloon
  • Newspaper
  • Flour and water mixture
  • Green Tissue Paper
  • Decoupage
  • Rope
  • Candy
  • Fleece for mask/felt for eyes

You need to start this project probably AT LEAST five days before the party. It takes the paper mache time to dry and you need to do several layers.

Blow up your balloon. Mix flour and water until it is a consistency that is slightly runny, but not too watery. Make sure there are no lumps if possible.

Shred your newspaper into long strips that are about 3 inches wide. Dip the newspaper strips into the flour mixture and then wipe the extra glue off. Place the newspaper on the balloon.

Continue to do this, layering and overlapping until the whole balloon is covered. Allow it to dry overnight at least. Longer is even better if you have time.

Add another layer. And another if possible, letting it dry preferably for at least 24 hours between each layer.

Cut a hole in the back of your piñata in progress. Pop the balloon inside and pull it out and fill the hollow shell with candy. Close up the hole.

Then, using a thin layer of decoupage (I used a paintbrush to spread mine), lay tissue paper on top of the paper mache. You will need several sheets of tissue paper to cover the whole thing.

Add a fleece mask and felt eyes, then string rope through the top by making two small holes:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Favors:

Ninja Turtle party favors make a party extra special. I knew I hit the jackpot when I found these cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle water bottles! My boys helped me pick them out and loved them too. I filled them with candy (in Ninja Turtles colors of course) and gave one to each kid at the party.

They were pretty excited!

I don’t know who had more fun with this Ninja Turtle party-me or the kids! I seriously had a blast putting it all together and I really tried to design the activities, decorations, food and favors so that you can do them too.

I hope you love these Ninja Turtle party ideas and have a blast throwing a party!

I was paid by Target to create this post.
